Clinical Conversations with Laura Taylor: Clinical Approaches to a Pro-inflammatory Microbiome
In this webinar, Naturopath Laura Taylor will share insights into the pro-inflammatory microbiome, helping clinicians to better understand its role in driving and sustaining intestinal and systemic inflammation.
Drawing from current evidence and clinical experience, Laura will outline the key microbial imbalances and ecosystem patterns commonly seen in clients with inflammatory gut presentations. You’ll learn how these imbalances contribute to the overall inflammatory load, what patterns to look for when analysing the microbiome, and the clinical symptoms they often present with.
This presentation will also walk through a case study exploring the trajectory of intestinal inflammation in practice. Laura will cover the journey from symptom onset and successful management based off microbiome analysis to what happens when an acute flare up occurs, and how to differentiate between relapse, reinfection, and other clinical drivers.
Laura will offer practical, evidence-informed treatment strategies that go beyond symptomatic relief to address the microbiome drivers of inflammation. You’ll also gain insights into when to retest and how to adjust your patient management plan if inflammation returns after initial success.
Whether you’re new to microbiome testing or looking to deepen your confidence in managing microbiome-driven inflammatory gut conditions, this webinar will provide you with real-life applications to support better outcomes for your patients when things don’t go to plan.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify the clinical signs and microbiome patterns associated with pro-inflammatory states.
2. Interpret key microbiome markers relevant to gut inflammation.
3. Apply evidence-informed strategies to manage and resolve microbiome-driven inflammation in practice.
4. Integrate microbiome retesting into patient-centred care to use objective data to confidently manage acute symptom flare-ups.

Laura Taylor, Naturopath
Laura Taylor is an experienced naturopath with a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy. Since graduating, Laura has mentored under Dr Jason Hawrelak, Dr Nirala Jacobi and Karly Raven to further deepen her knowledge of gastrointestinal disorders and evidence-based treatment strategies. Through her online clinic, The Biome Collective, Laura has supported hundreds of clients with complex digestive concerns, using microbiome manipulation to achieve long-lasting resolution of their symptoms.
Laura’s special interest lies in uncovering the root causes of persistent gut issues such as IBS, SIBO and inflammatory bowel disease, and supporting the intricate connections between gut health, hormones and the nervous system. Laura’s other clinical interest is unravelling the complexities that surround iron, to help her clients get to the root cause of this common deficiency. Her evidence-based, no-nonsense approach combines functional testing with practical, individualised care that empowers clients who feel like they’ve already tried everything without success.
Beyond her clinical practice, Laura is passionate about growing the confidence of the incredibly talented practitioners in our profession. As one half of the Jade and Laura mentoring business, Laura helps naturopaths and nutritionists to build confidence in interpreting microbiome test results and connecting the dots between gut microbiome imbalances and menstrual disorders. Jade and Laura are equally passionate about mentoring fellow practitioners to build authentic, values-driven practices that support both financial abundance and meaningful client outcomes.
